cardiac prevention and rehabilitation

Our Story

CP+R was born out of my vision and desire to make positive and life changing differences to people's lives. The catalyst for turning this vision into action were two great and inspiring men in my life; my father and a gentleman called Alan Galley.

I witnessed firsthand the impact a heart attack and major heart surgery had on my father and on my family. I understand how it feels to want reassurance when you and your family's lives have been turned upside down, to want the very best aftercare for your loved one, and to being prepared to do whatever you can to make it happen. There was what I can only describe as an abyss between what my father was actually offered in terms of rehabilitation and what was my expectation of what could and should have been offered. I used that intense feeling to fuel my actions and still do every day. I am proud to say that my father will be part of the special group of people I lead up Snowdon later his year for our charity event.

Alan was the official first patient of CP+R and we, as Team Galley, are now into our 6th year together. We have walked across the country together achieving the legendary Coast to Coast walk, we play cricket in the same team, and share many wonderful memories involving fun and being active. Alan is also part of the Snowdown team this year and continues to work incredibly hard on nurturing his lifestyle for his better tomorrow.

My father and Alan have allowed me to see that every person who I have the privilege and opportunity to help is not a number or statistic but someone's partner, someone's parent, someone's sibling, someone's friend, and someone's special someone.
