



The hybrid role exists to help our athletes live longer, better and to support CP+R in achieving our mission of rehabilitating cardiac rehab in the southwest. This role is a hybrid of an Assessment Specialist and a virtual Cardiac Coach. You will deliver high-quality assessments at our Bath Assessment Centre and provide inspirational coaching online, ensuring every athlete receives exceptional value throughout their journey with CP+R.
You’ll be part of the team that conducts our in-person clinical assessments in Bath, which form the vital first step that makes our high-quality virtual care possible. You will conduct assessments to gather baseline physiological and psychological data from our clients, including tests such as CPET, body composition analysis and strength testing, as well as blood analysis. You will be required to analyse and interpret collected data to provide insights for our Coaching and Experience teams.
You’ll be responsible for conducting our in-person clinical assessments and managing administrative duties such as ordering stock, maintaining equipment and building on our relationship with Team Bath. Assessments form the vital first step that makes our high-quality virtual care possible. You will conduct tests such as CPET, body composition analysis and strength testing, as well as point of care blood analysis. You will be required to analyse and interpret collected data to provide insights for our Coaching and Experience teams.
+ Depending on bookings, deliver a minimum of 5 hours per week of in-person assessments.
+ Collect, interpret and analyse physiological and performance data.
+ Produce accurate, timely assessment reports that support athlete progression.
+ Work directly with the Experience Management team on bookings, assessments and handover quality.
+ Maintain a professional and collaborative relationship between CP+R and Team Bath.
As a cardiac coach, you will manage a portfolio of clients, coaching, inspirating and motivating each person to achieve their individual health and life goals. You will use their medical history, lifestyle assessment and physiological results from their clinical assessment to prescribe an appropriate exercise, nutrition and lifestyle programme.
+ Provide inspirational, evidence-based coaching that drives measurable outcomes through positive assessment results.
+ Deliver virtual coaching sessions across the week, as most of your contracted hours
+ Generate value through setting up Initial Assessments (IAs) and onboarding new athletes.
+ Deliver value through consistent, impactful coaching that meets entitlement standards.
+ Retain value by supporting athlete progression, flown solos and appropriate membership changes.
+ Work collaboratively with the wider coaching, assessment and clinical teams to ensure consistency and excellence.
+ Contribute to ongoing innovation in our hybrid coaching and assessment model.
+ Maintain high professional standards, safeguarding and adherence to CP+R protocols.
+ In-person assessments: Minimum 5 hours per week at the University of Bath (may increase with demand), which includes the delivery of in-person assessments and associated admin.
+ Data analysis & reporting: Associated time required to produce high-quality assessment reports.
+ Virtual coaching: Remainder of the 40-hour week spent coaching remotely.
+ Prep: read relevant onboarding notes for athletes ahead of assessments, including medical background information.
+ Monitor stock levels and request orders when needed, although mostly this is set up through a relationship with Jonathan, who is a Bath University Sport Scientist and manages the assessment room.
+ CPET analysis, which our London Assessment centre then put into the report
+ Weekly education meeting with Professor Winsley of the University of Exeter
+ Communicating with your athletes outside of session on our CP+R Clubhouse app
+ Provide feedback on your athletes 4 Pillar performance and progress (Including resistance training, Cardiovascular training, nutrition and steps).
+ Attending Team meetings throughout the week
+ 2:1 or above predicted or acquired BSc grade in relevant degree (e.g. Sport & Exercise Science)
+ Proven experience in physiological testing in a health-related or exercise capacity
+ Proven experience in a customer service role
+ Proven experience or interest in rehabilitation or helping people
+ Six months 1-2-1 coaching experience (desirable but not essential)
+ Personal Training or Strength & Conditioning qualification (desirable but not essential)
+ BACPR Level 4 qualification (desirable but not essential)
+ AHCS Clinical Exercise Physiologist Accreditation (desirable but not essential)
