Testimonials

Jane, hypertension and musculoskeletal problems

“Having had an arthritic hip and problems with my knees and some years of immobility, I had my hip replaced and then had a diagnosis of coronary artery disease. My cardiologist recommended that I go to CP+R to improve my mobility, blood pressure and general fitness. I have now been with CP+R for over a year and the difference in my health is amazing. As well as the two sessions I attend at Harley Street each week, I walk over 10,000 steps every day. I have lost weight and my energy and enthusiasm for life have returned.”

Rosemary Dorey, Atrial Fibrillation

David Kellie-Smith, Heart Attack

David I, Heart Attack

“I had a heart attack followed by a triple bypass operation. This of course was a shock but especially as I thought I was a very fit sixty year old. Football twice a week as a young man, three marathons, tennis and gym four times a week. During my first CP+R session I was checked over most thoroughly. Not just blood pressure, heart rate, cholesterol etc., but also every body measurement possible and photographs of my posture. Since that time I have been working one-to-one with my clinical exercise specialist. I very much enjoy it and the results have been terrific. Cholesterol down, weight down, fitness up, even body shape improvement. All the CES’ are brilliant, not just in sessions but with constant encouragement and enthusiasm. One big plus is diet. The difference in what I eat now as to what I was eating in the first weeks has been transformed. I now have a healthy balanced diet of which I can really feel the benefit.”

Andrea, Breast Cancer

Adrian N, Hypertension

“When my (somewhat fearsome) cardiologist referred me to CP+R, I confess that it felt rather like being given the adult equivalent of an after-school detention.  As so often in life, perception has turned out to be very different from reality. My experience of CP+R has been of very professional, personalised care focusing very much on my needs – rather than a ‘one size fits all’ approach.  Two years on, attending three times a week, I feel as if I have more energy, am a lot more supple, slimmer – and, best of all, my cardiologist was slightly less fearsome when I last saw her. Indeed, she has ‘signed me off.”

Vim, Large B-cell Lymphoma

CP+R helping the fight against Covid-19

During normal times training is done at our Centre of Excellence on Harley Street or with a Cardiac Coach at home. Whilst social distancing remains a critical part of fighting the virus we are now delivering online sessions. We have also created a comprehensive online assessment of your health and fitness to ensure constant monitoring throughout your journey with us.

Should you exercise after being vaccinated?

This week we’re going to discuss vaccinations – but more specifically, the effect of exercise on vaccination. Vaccinations vary in effectiveness and can cause individuals to feel a little run down afterwards as the body shows a muted immune response designed to cause the vaccination to take effect. One thing that is often not so
